I have always had a talent and interest in art and design and I knew I wanted to do something creative for a career. Once I got to college for A-levels I really unveiled the fascinating realm of graphic design and I chose it and straight away it clicked and fulfilled the enigma of what branch of art I wanted to pursue. Studying graphic design intensely for 2 years, my skills in both digital literacy and weird and wonderful innovation flourished into a driven passion. I have in depth experience with platforms such as Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, whilst being equipped with the full Adobe Suite. Since leaving sixth-form college, I have been on a gap year, working at thestoryofemily as a restaurant host. However, I have done a great range of posters, activity sheets and illustrations for thestoryofemily. This has provided me with valuable experience in real world work, working to real briefs and meeting deadlines. My future plans are to go travelling which will be a golden opportunity to gather artistic inspiration. I then wish to return to graphic design full time come September 2025 and work my way up in a job through connections whilst also pursuing freelancing.
In February 2023 I was accepted onto a prestigious week long residential film academy with the British Film Institute. Working with 30 other young individuals from across the UK to create animated short films, my group of 3 created this short film inspired by a Lighthouse keeper's whimsical hallucinations from Mercury poisoning. This course taught me a myriad of new skills in animating and working collaboratively with peers and pushed me out of my comfort zone as I was new to animation.
